About me I’m a freelance photographer with more than 30 years experience in corporate photography, portrait photography and head shots, industry, aerial shots and editorial and architectural photography. Based in Sydney, but operating across Australia and internationally, I work with clients from all different industries, including government, property developers and architects, interior designers, corporate and enterprise clients, manufacturers, advertising and media. I’ve won a number of national and international photography awards. Before founding Brendan Read Photography, I was a senior in-house photographer for a number of major Australian newspapers including the Sydney Morning Herald and the West Australian. I was also a photographic manager for the International Olympic Committee during the Sydney and Athens Olympic Games. I’m used to working to tight deadlines and complicated briefs and I have a professional, no fuss approach that gets the job done. I produce images that have impact and capture the decisive moment – images that make a difference. I live above my studio in Alexandria with my two sons and our dog Buddy. THE ZEBRAS If you look closely at my logo, you’ll see it has black and white stripes in it. These are a reference to a painting of zebras at play, which was on the door to my darkroom back in the days before digital photography (the painting is by legendary Kenyan born artist Alexandra Spyratos). I still look back fondly on my black and white printing days.
